CAN WE TRUST MAJOR MEDIA NEWS OUTLETS?

FOXNews has called them the alphabet networks - ABC, CBS and NBC. Anyone reading between the lines knows they're all in the tank for the current POTUS. It's slick and the unsophisticated of the world take them at face/word value. Others, however, being a bit more discerning, recognize news 'spin' for what it is. A good example was a Jay Leno late night television show this week.

Jay asked questions of the President that, through Sullivan's eye, were designed to take the conversation where POTUS wanted it to go. They're both naturals and it came across as unscripted and natural dialogue. This writer, however, saw a design to it. Wes,hy? He's been on the campaign trail since he was elected. And the Left is scared S..tless. That's why the Left is turning out their supporters in the streets. (Hey cities, looking for revenue? Arrest & fine 'em. Take their leftist bankrollers to the cleaners!)

Let's switch to international news for a moment. Can we believe the news coming out of anywhere overseas via these networks. Assad in Syria is being portrayed as a bad guy because he's trying to keep order in his nation. Like Iraq, will we see the time when weapons of mass destruction are allegedly at his fingertips? That would give us a reason to try and bomb him out of existence, like we're trying to do in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Iran....they have all existed almost forever. They will exist in the future as well. So, why do we need to be there?

Let's also look at the crowds in the streets everywhere. They're being led, of course, by organizations with an agenda. One thousand people rioted in Oakland, California recently. The television coverage, coupled with the crowds gathering in other cities, would have some believe that it is a populist movement. Judging by the polls, a significant number of Americans don't know who to believe. In other words, the unsophisticated who get their politics "off the shelf", i.e. from the alphabet networks. None read between the lines. None take the time become a political sophisticate.

Let's look at Greece in the news. Rioters there are a minority. However, seeing them on major news outlets would make us believe it's the entire country.

Who will win this propaganda battle? It will be the undecided that will make us or break us we we vote in 2012. My responsibility as a writer is to fight for what I believe. And you can bet the alphabet networks and the Left will fight me and what I believe.
